Charcoal Burger @ New York Burger Time,Penang

Charcoal Burger

Hey so i recently went to the newly opened New York Burger Time,Jalan Irrawadi,Penang. If you dont know it,its just a few shops away from Harvest In Cafe and it is really easy to find.I think it is the same as New York Pizza,Jalan Sungai Dua

New York Burger Time

I've never tried charcoal burgers and so this is my very first try and i have to say im very satisfied with the charcoal burgers here and charcoal bread is suppose to be good for health so thats a bonus lol. So,the concept here is pretty much the same as Marshall's Burger as they only sell burgers, sides and beverages. We ended up ordering wedges,3 charcoal burgers and soft drinks :)

Menu

Wedges
Maybe over-fried but maybe that's how they intended to do it?But its really crispy outside and soft inside :D other side dishes are on the menu like french fries, mushrooms, hashbrowns, cheesy wedges and many more

Pepsi Light
never ever ever ever gonna drink this again or any light drinks LOL.sure it has 0 calories/sugar but the aftertaste is really horrible haha.they should've told me they had other drinks that were not on the menu like sprite, ice lemon tea and other drinks i would've liked -_-

Now the burgers!

Queens (beef)
this is the classic cheesebuger; beef patty, cheese, lettuce, onions, tartar sauce

Fifth Avenue (beef)
So they labelled the burger wrongly its actually BEEF not chicken.this is almost the same as Queens, just with sauteed mushrooms and onions added

The Big Apple (chicken)
double grilled chicken, chicken bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato and the best part is the CHEESE SAUCE.omg so good!!for once im like extremely happy with what i ordered cause usually my family orders something better and i end up regretting loll -_- anyways i really suggest you order this because it has both cheese slice and cheese sauce ^O^

Charcoal Burgers :D
chose the right place to try charcoal burgers for the first time overall, the burgers are really yummy, prices are reasonable and service is quite okay lol (maybe because they just opened)

If you live in the Gelugor area, you can go to New York Pizza,Jalan Sungai Dua (sells pizza, charcoal burgers..) but thats a little out of the way for me so luckily there's a similar one here in New York Burger Time,Jalan Irrawaddi,Penang.charcoal burgers might not be as photogenic but they taste better than ordinary ones in my opinion :D so remember to have a try!More information on their facebook page just click HERE

Komugi Cafe @ Pavilion

Komugi Cafe

So as i mentioned in my previous blog post,i'll be blogging about my favourite cafe in KL which is Komugi Cafe,Pavilion. Its one of the shops in Tokyo Street, which is on the 6th floor of Pavilion. It is a Japanese cafe which serves japanese pastry, desserts, pastas, soup and coffee :D

Komugi
the cafe's sign

Its actually a really nice place to have your afternoon tea. They have a variety of pastry and desserts which are impossible to resist, especially if youre a sweet tooth like me :p but they also have other savoury dishes on the menu.so here are some photos of the cafe

colourful japanese cakes and swiss rolls displayed in the front to attract customers :p

look at those fruit tarts, mini fruit tarts, cheese tarts, cakes and macaroons!!how can you resist??if you're a macaroon fan,try their giant macaroons but sadly im no longer fond of macaroons...and btw sry for the crappy shot the backpack is blocking -_-

buns in disguise
buns made to look like oranges and apples.they can be really deceiving especially the ones in the middle disguised as mandarin oranges.never tried them before but i think i might the next time i visit KL :D

a wide selection of freshly baked pastries,bread,croissant....

so out of the many choices not only in the photos above, but also in the menu,we finally ordered cappuccino, strawberry cheesecake, croissants and a mini fruit tart.

Hello cappuccino
im not a hello kitty fan but i found this super cuteee and i love cappuccino/latte art (i think i mentioned it in my previous post lol) and this cafe's cappuccino/latte art is the nicest i've seen.confession: i purposely asked my mum to order cappuccino just to see the art because everytime she orders, the art is different *_*

Strawberry cheesecake
cookie base, spongy cheesecake, thin layer of cream and strawberries.look at the glaze on the strawberries omg and they put just enough cream :) i usually prefer a denser or more compact cheesecake instead of this spongy one but i still liked it

Mini fruit tart
again LOOK HOW GLOSSY.honestly,i dont like their fruit tart,i like the pastry and the fruits but i dont really like the sponge cake filling as i usually prefer my tarts to have a curd filling and i also dont like how much cream they put in there :/ their cheese tarts are much better

Croissant
i love my mum for taking this ham and cheese croissant.it might sound really simple and ordinary but this is really good!we took another of of this since it was so good.the croissant was so buttery and flaky unlike the one's i've had before, which were really dry :/ so this warm buttery croissant with the crispy ham and melted cheese just tasted like heaven in my mouth *_* we planned to bring some home the next day but we forgot......

Komugi cafe
love the environment.dont you?never fail to come here everytime i visit KL.looking forward to trying other things on their menu :D there's also one in mid valley but you cant eat there, only take away.oh and remember to visit Tokyo Street in Pavilion (6th Floor) :D

Plan B @ Mid Valley Megamall

"always have a Plan B"

Hellooo.so this is obviously a food post.If you read my TWG blog post,i went to KL earlier in the holidays and i just thought i might blog about this place ; Plan B,Mid Valley Megamall (Ground Floor,South Zone).if im not mistaken, there's one in Publika too.k so when the cab dropped us off,i saw Plan B and i immediately got excited because i wanted to try the food there and i didnt know there was one in mid valley :D

No surprise,it was packed and there was a line.Of course there was lol.The malls in KL are crazy packed compared to Penang's.so practically every restaurant had a line -.-

Menu
the menu is modern aussie-meets-new york deli.they serve sandwiches, pastas and a variety of cakes and desserts.there are also Asian and Western meals featured in the late-night supper menu :)

Honestly this place is the perfect place for breakfast or brunch.Im a pasta lover but i didnt order the pasta here because i tried Ben's (Gurney Paragon) pasta once and it wasnt very good.the reason why i mentioned Ben's is because both Plan B and Ben's are runned by the same company which is,The Big Group and their menu and food is basically the same.so luckily i knew that and made the right choice not to order pasta lol.Instead,i decided to try their Eggs Benedict!Mum had a hard time choosing but ended up ordering their breakfast platter and my aunt ordered beef pie along with other beverages.

Cappucinno
I love cappuccino/latte art!heheh idk why.anyways this was accompanied with a thin slice of biscotti and brown sugar

Eggs Benedict
ok so mine first!eggs benedict (english muffin topped with turkey bacon, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce).they had two other similar dishes to this just with different toppings ; Eggs Royale (smoked salmon, poached eggs, hollandaise) and Eggs Ben (mushrooms, salad, poached eggs, hollandaise).i wouldve ordered Eggs Ben because i love mushrooms but then i saw SALAD.so,NO.lol

omg look at the perfectly poached egg with the yolk oozing out!!im actually craving this now but its idk how many km's away....everything tasted so good, especially the english muffin!so much better than McDonald's loll :p

Prime Beef Pie
with salad, which tasted abit weird but i find all salads weird so you cant take my word for it :p anyways, the filling consists of beef chunks, mushrooms, onions and gravy.LOVED the whole thing but was quite disappointed there were no potatoes hhaha.but i loved that they used Wagyu beef!Wagyu beef is the meat of japanese cows/cattle which are massaged and fed with sake/beer.yes you read it right, they're basically pampered cows/cattle lol.something like Kobe Beef

Plan B Breakfast Platter
toast topped with eggs (poached, scrambled or fried),chicken sausage, turkey bacon, hashbrown, baked beans, cherry tomatoes and....sauteed mushrooms!such a good deal :D especially loved the sauteed mushrooms!overall it was good but nobody touched the baked beans loll.oh,this comes with a glass of orange juice and another cup of coffee/tea.the perfect breakfast <3

Brunch at Plan B

sadly i didnt order any desserts but i can always visit Ben's.hehhe.would i come here again?YES OBVIOUSLY.cant wait for my next trip to KL already >_<.lastly,you can check out the pricing or Plan B's menu <just click that .highly suggest you try the food here when you visit KL!

That's it for this blog post. Thanks for reading and i hoped you enjoyed the foodporn ahahah. You can read my previous blog posts or kindly leave a comment!Lastly follow me on blogger, instagram, twitter or friend me on facebook :D will blog about Komugi Cafe soon so
